Country life! Si dolce è il tormento
ENSEMBLE CAPRICE MONTRÉAL & Matthias Maute
The acclaimed Ensemble Caprice is returning to Stockstadt, this time with richly coloured instrumentation and under the baton of the recorder and traverso flute player Matthias Maute. In their new programme, titled ‘Landleben’, the musicians from Montreal present an insightful musical story with vocal and instrumental gems from the 17th and 18th centuries. In this ‘rustic’ musical programme, listeners will get to hear the soprano Myriam Leblanc sing arias by Purcell, Monteverdi and Vivaldi, in addition to the pastoral sounds of traverso flutes penned by Telemann, and concertos featuring trumpets and oboes. To round off the day, there will also be a celebration with Spanish rhythms from the Renaissance period as well as chaconnes that will make you want to dance. And the birdlike sounds of Matthias Maute’s hummingbird concerto round off this pastoral programme in style.
