Tabea Debus & Tr!jo

We are extremely pleased to be continuing the series featuring international prize winners from the field of early music, including the recorder, in 2021. The wonderfully talented recorder player Tabea Debus lives in the UK and is one of the most exciting young players in the world of early music. But that’s not all – Tabea is also passionate about contemporary music and has premièred numerous commissioned works. She is a revelation whose ability and convincing musicality touches listeners. Tabea was awarded with the first prize at the 2019 Moeck International Solo Recorder Competition. The listeners felt the difference between the silvery sound of the harpsichord and the delicate tone of the lute slide, between the velvety bowed gamba tone and its pizzicato pearls, between the beguilingly beautiful legato melismas of the recorder and its cheeky staccato runs. And when they were still racing with the other instruments and in relays or pairs, paradoxically even in threes, one’s breath was taken away.
