MUSIC TRADE FAIR

Instruments made of rare and precious woods, rediscovered and new editions of sheet music, resourcefully clever and useful accessories: this colourful mixture of extraordinary gems is offered to visitors on more than 1200m² in the wonderfully historic halls of the Regentenbau in Bad Kissingen as part of the Recorder Festival 2024 trade fair.

Publishers, instrument makers and specialist dealers from all over the world will create an exhibition with their handmade instruments and sheet music that is unparalleled anywhere else in the world. The wonderful premises, which are considered a world cultural heritage site, provide a dignified and aesthetically harmonious setting for the exhibits.

The countless stands of recorder makers, which make up the largest part of the exhibition, are joined by stands with transverse flutes, historical reed and double-reed instruments and the finest gem horns. In addition, historical keyboard instruments, hurdy-gurdies and drums round off the offer in the most pleasant way.

An exhibition of musical instruments lives to a large extent from trying out and playing the instruments. Where else can you compare so many different instruments in one place?

For visitors who would like to try out wind instruments, the organisers have come up with something special this year: three VIR-X® disinfection systems make it possible to disinfect wind instruments safely and in accordance with the Covid-19 hygiene standards during the exhibition. This service will be provided free of charge to exhibitors and visitors by the exhibition management.

VIR-X systems work on the basis of the disinfecting effect of special UV-C radiation and ozone. Systems from this manufacturer are used by leading instrument manufacturers and European music academies for the disinfection of musical instruments. With their help, woodwind instruments can be gently and effectively disinfected inside and out in a short time.

This unique service provided by the organisers also demonstrates the leading position of the Recorder Festival Fair and enables musicians to play their instruments without worries. After all, what could be better than leaving the fair with a treasure that you have found and acquired? Making music with the new treasures.
Rummaging through special editions of sheet music and rare recordings is just as much a part of the magnet that magically attracts the professional audience every year as the endless number of expert discussions between musicians, instrument makers and publishers.
