INTRADA

Ensemble Playing in the Large Festtage Recorder Orchestra, Bad Kissingen

We are very pleased to celebrate ensemble playing in the large recorder orchestra in Bad Kissingen together again in 2026. The Intrada workshop not only offers you the opportunity to make music in a large recorder ensemble, but also to further develop your musical skills in a focused way, gain new impulses for your own playing, and gather valuable experience in choral ensemble performance. The rehearsal work under the expert guidance of several conductors is as intensive as it is instructive, and the repertoire is as exclusive as it is exciting.

Fortunately, we were once again able to engage Frank Oberschelp as the wonderful, inspiring and thoughtful leader for this year’s edition. Working together as a duo, the lecturers will coach, conduct and rehearse in the three-hour workshop. We are particularly delighted to welcome the Taiwanese recorder orchestra conductor Meng-Heng Chen to Germany for the first time. The professor and conductor of the legendary Hsin-Chu Recorder Orchestra brings extensive experience, fresh ideas and a great love of large recorder ensembles to Bad Kissingen, and will also conduct contemporary repertoire.

Listening to concerts is inspiring. Playing in the Intrada means being part of the festival.

This results in intensive and highly exciting sessions with both lecturers, in which not only sound and precision are refined, but also ensemble balance, musical expression and stylistic diversity. The joint public presentation finally offers the opportunity to share what has been developed in a festive setting and to experience the special energy of a large recorder orchestra on stage.

A wide repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to modern music awaits you at Intrada 2026. The following works will be studied:

Johann Sebastian Bach
Chorale Prelude Erbarm dich mein, o Herre Gott BWV 721
Andrea Gabrieli
Canzona 27 à 8 Fa, so, la, re
Yang Zhaozhen (arranged by Lin Ming-Chieh)

Jean-Baptiste Lully
Chaconne
