A Musical Portrait of Albrecht Dürer
The Royal Wind Music
Welcome to The Royal Wind Music: a unique consort of Renaissance recorders based in Amsterdam and specialized in repertoire from the golden age of polyphony (1520-1640).
The Amsterdam ensemble The Royal Wind Music performs on recorders in all sizes, ranging from the sopranino to the three-meter-long subcontrabass recorder. All instruments are crafted by renowned specialists such as Adriana Breukink, Adrian Brown, and Bob Marvin, based on historical models, including the Ambras recorders at the Kunsthistorisches Museum in Vienna.
In its unconventional programs, the ensemble focuses on direct communication with the audience. The centerpiece of this concert is one of the key figures of the Renaissance: the German master painter Albrecht Dürer.
The music presented will correspond with Dürer’s masterpieces; among the works performed will be pieces from the court chapel of Emperor Maximilian I, one of Dürer’s important patrons and commissioners.
The Erlöserkirche in Bad Kissingen is the ideal venue for this concert, promising a synesthetic experience of the highest class and extraordinary auditory pleasure in an authentic setting.
